Story
On Thursday, February 2, 2006, at 13:41 hours, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a pedestrian motor vehicle accident at Baywood Green off State Route 24. Upon the arrival of Deputy Chief Brian Hubbs, it was determined that a male subject had been struck in the head with the boom from a cement truck. Due to the patients condition, it was determined by Sussex County Paramedics that an aviation flight to Christiana Hospital was essential. Firefighters assisted with coordinating the landing zone for the Delaware State Police helicopter. The incident was declared under control at 14:15 hours.
