At 6:29 PM on Friday, September 30, Mike Kernan, one of our members, came upon the scene of a motor vehicle collision with injuries on Route 24, John J. Williams Highway, opposite the 3 Seasons Auction House. He had his son, David, and David's wife with him. All three are Emergency Medical Technicians. Mike used his fire company radio to call for assistance and all three EMT's began treating patients. Four patients were transported to Beebe Medical Center. Route 24 was closed for 30 minutes while the patients were treated and the roadway cleared of all debris. Twenty-four firefighters were in service for forty-nine minutes for this call.
