At 8:39 PM on Tuesday, August 2, we were dispatched to an MVA with injury on Hollymount Road, County Road 48, near John J. Williams Highway, Route 24. We arrived to find a Chevrolet convertible that had slid off the road and struck a power pole. The driver was out of the car and had suffered only minor injuries. She was transported to Beebe Medical Center to be checked out. Hollymount Road was closed for a lengthy amount of time while Delaware Electric Coop repaired the pole. Twenty-six Firefighters were in service for fifty-five minutes for this call.
Just under 19 hours later at 3:06 PM on Wednesday, August 3, we were dispatched to 30913 Hollymount Road for a vehicle fire. This location is only about a quarter mile from last nights MVA. We arrived to find a pickup truck that was well involved. A foam handline quickly knocked the fire down. Firefighters were in service for forty-one minutes on this call.
