Story
At 11:14 PM on Tuesday, June 21, we were dispatched, along with Station 82, Lewes, and Station 83, Millsboro, to the report of a house fire on Abbey Way in Sherwood Forest North on Route 24, John J. Williams Highway. Upon arrival, we found a light smoke condition in the residence. Station 83 was returned and one Engine from Station 82 was put on standby at Indian River Station 2 to cover any other calls in our District. The cause of the smoke condition was an overheated condensation pump in the air conditioner system. The pump was located in the crawl space under the residence. We disconnected the pump and removed the light smoke from the building. Thirty-one firefighters were in service for one hour and twenty-one minutes on this call.
