Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious

Location: Long Neck Rd and School Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday evening, July 16^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of School Lane.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Ladder 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a white Chrysler mini-van was attempting to access Long Neck Road from Palmer’s Shopping Center when it was struck by a silver Kia sedan causing damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.  Traffic patterns on Long Neck Road were disrupted for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
