Story
It has been an average week for call activity. On March 5, Indian River went to Sea Hawk Lane in Rehoboth Shores for a medical assist. Indian River utilizes the brush trucks to respond to medical assists, water rescues (each tows one of our boats), and calls in bad weather as well as brush fires. Here is a picture of Brush 80-0 in Rehoboth Shores. Later on March 5, Indian River responded to Knoll Way in Mariner's Cove for a smoke detector sounding. While we were there, we checked all of the smoke detectors to make sure they were working and had good batteries. Here are pictures of Lieutenant Jason Faulkner and Firefighter Mike Bowden checking the smoke detectors. On March 7, we responded to Oak Meadows Drive in Oak Meadows for a medical assist. Here is a picture of both of our brush trucks, 80-0 & 80-00. We had 3 calls on March 12. The first was for a child locked in a car at the car wash on Long Neck Road by Enchanted Acres. It was necessary to break a window to gain entry to the car. Here is a picture of firefighters putting a plastic bag over the broken window. The second call was at Long Neck Road and Route 24, John J. Williams Highway, for an auto accident with injuries. Here is a picture of firefighters preparing to disconnect the battery on one of the vehicles. While we were at this accident, we were dispatched to another auto accident on Mount Joy Road near Cannon Road. Although none of the occupants said they were injured, the car was severely damaged. Here is a picture of the car involved.
