At 5:09 PM on August 30, 2004, we were dispatched to Route 24 & Route 48 for a report of a serious MVA. Upon arrival, we discovered a Ford Thunderbird and a Dodge pickup truck that had collided head-on. Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and the pickup was upside down. The driver of the pickup was extricated and sent to Beebe Medical Center by ground transportation. The driver of the Thunderbird expired before she could be extricated. Thirty-five firefighters were in service for 2 hours and 45 minutes on this incident.
