Nature: Indian River Sells Rescue 80

Apparatus Sold – Rescue 80

The Indian River VFC is pleased to announce that below specified rescue has been sold.  The sale was necessary to pursue the upgrade of existing apparatus to better serve our community and to address the current staffing levels of the volunteer fire service.

A 1997 Spartan Metro Star Rescue (custom manufactured by 4-Guys, Inc.) which has an 8-man cab with a Command Center; Cummins 330 HP diesel engine; Allison automatic transmission; 18-foot walk-around body; 30 KW PTO generator; 20,000-pound front mounted winch; 2-Hurst hydraulic reels with 100 feet of hydraulic hose on each; On-spot chains; 8-bottle air cascade system; and 3,000-watt night vision command light tower.

Mileage: 30,807 and Engine Hours:  2,608.

The Indian River VFC is pleased with the results of the Apparatus Committee that was appointed and designated to pursue the procurement requirements for replacement apparatus for Rescue 80 and Engine #80-5.  The new rescue engine for Indian River VFC will be received within the foreseeable future.

Rescue 80 will be transferred to the Cooksville Fire Company in Cooksville, Illinois.
