Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious

Location: 30800-30898 Stonewater Creek, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday evening, June 18, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover and possible entrapment at the intersection of Stonewater Creek Boulevard and Indian Mission Road.  It was reported to be two vehicles and at least four patients requesting medical attention.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility, Ladder 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assist with patient stabilization, traffic control, as well as fluid and debris clean-up.  It was verified upon arrival of emergency response personnel that no entrapment existed.  Additional emergency medical service assistance was requested from Milton (85) and Lewes (82) fire companies.

It appears that a red Ford compact car was traveling on Indian Mission Road as was a rust Hyundai Santa Fe that was struck broadside and rolled over.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
