On Saturday evening, June 10th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Sussex County Paramedics and the local emergency medical service providers with a medical emergency at the McDonald’s on John J. Williams Highway.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Utility #80-11, Chief #80-15, and Brush #80-0.

Emergency response crew assignments were to coordinate incident mitigation services as well as scene preservation activities.

Body discovered in Sussex McDonald's ladies' room

Delaware State Police are investigating after a woman was found dead in the bathroom of a McDonald's near Long Neck.

Around 7:12 p.m. on Saturday, troopers responded to the McDonald's at 24943 John J. Williams Highway after someone reported a woman was found unconscious in the ladies' bathroom, police said.  

Sussex County Paramedics responded and pronounced her dead. Police are withholding her name while they contact family.

The Delaware Division of Forensic Science will conduct an autopsy.  Foul play is not suspected.
