Nature: Structure Fire

Address:  26506 Lucky Lane, Massey’s Landing, Millsboro, DE 19966

 

On Saturday afternoon, June 3rd, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82), and Millsboro (83) fire departments were alerted for a reported structure fire on Lucky Lane in the Massey’s Landing Park off of Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be heavy smoke from under the manufactured home.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Ladder 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility, as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Other resources alerted included Sussex County Emergency Medical Services, the local emergency medical service provider, the Long Neck Water Company, and the Delaware State Fire Marshall.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation tasks to identify and secure the origin of the incident, fire suppression and saturation efforts, and ventilation.  Efforts to locate the origin required the removal and access to underneath and crawl space of the manufactured home.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene access for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating.

The Long Neck Water Company was notified to shut off the water supply to the residential structure.
