Thursday May, 11 2017 @ 14:36 Nature: Vehicle Accident Location: Cordrey Rd and Mount Joy Rd Millsboro, DE 19966
On Thursday afternoon, May 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for vehicle accident involving a single vehicle on Mount Joy Road approaching Cordrey Road. Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as Rescue 80 and Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard facility. Emergency response crew assignments were to prepare for scene mitigation, assist with vehicle stabilization, traffic control, and scene preservation. The Delaware State Fire Police were ordered to close Mount Joy Road for an extended amount of time. It appears that a silver Honda Civic was traveling on mount Joy Road approaching Cordrey Road and left the roadway striking an embankment, and utility pole. The vehicle suffered significant damage and remained partially on the roadway surface. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated their respective assignments. The Delaware State Police are investigating. Additional information will be published as it become available. |
