Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Friday, March 31st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Mount Joy Road in the vicinity Stumps Lane. It was reported to be a single vehicle incident.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80, Utility 80-11, and Brush 80-0 as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Indian River was already in-service at an earlier medical related incident.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control and incident mitigation.

It appears that an Oldsmobile Alero was traveling on Mount Joy Road while rounding some curves and lost control striking some roadway signage and sliding into adjoining residential yards.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
