Indian River Volunteer Fire Company hosts the Cumberland Valley Firefighter Association’s 32nd Presidents Council Meeting.

 

Indian River is pleased to host this event in recognition of the faithful service that the Cumberland Valley Firefighter Association (CVVFA) has bestow upon the region.

Activities will include presentations regarding the three educational programs are offered by the CVVFA. Event speakers include:

(1) CVVFA Association’s Attorney Bill Preston will be on hand to explain the legal challenges facing fire companies in today’s society.

(2) Ed Klima of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will speak about the First Responder Center for Excellence for Reducing Occupational Illness, Injuries and Deaths, Inc a new initiative to improve the health and safety of public safety personnel.

(3) Rob Brady the key Pennsylvania government specialist on fire department consolidations. Rob will speak about the movement to strengthen fire services in areas where multiple companies are working to combine forces to improve emergency response.

All of these distinguished speakers are active members of the volunteer fire service.
