Nature: Property Management – Station Clean Up Activities

Location: Oak Orchard & Long Neck Facilities

As the bitter cold dissipates and the thought of spring is just around the corner, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company has been pursuing the inevitable task of cleaning up the debris that has accumulated over the course of our winter months. For property owners, it also means it’s time for the seasonal maintaining and cleaning of all properties.

While indoor property maintenance has been ongoing, one of the biggest tasks during spring maintenance is heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance. As the weather warms, the best step you can take to ensure your HVAC systems are working as efficiently and cleanly as possible is to clean or replace your system’s air filters.

Spring is also a great time for residents to have smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors tested, and to have batteries replaced if need be.

With spring comes great weather and the return of those beautiful blooming flowers and trees. With all that new growth, comes the need to cut back overgrowth and tame things like weeds. Over the past few weeks, Indian River has pursued the completion of the tree trimming requirements as well as the drainage ditch cleanings, marsh reed trimmings, and overall debris clean ups at both our Oak Orchard and Long Neck stations.

Recently, at our Long Neck station, progress has been made with respect to removal of the residential manufactured home on the some recently acquired parcels immediately adjacent to our existing property at our Long Neck Station on Banks Road.

Illustrated herewith are photographs of the progress at both stations as well plan for future operations of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company.
