Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious

Location: Long Neck Rd and Pot Nets Road, Millsboro, DE 19966

As the wintery mix of weather continues in Long Neck the vehicle accidents do as well.

On Saturday morning, December 17th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for its second vehicle accident in as many hours. This incident was located on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Pot Nets on the “S” Curve. It was reported to be a single vehicle roll-over with possible serious injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility, and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assist with patient stabilization if needed, traffic control and overall scene mitigation.

It appears that a dark colored Ford Explorer SUV type vehicle was traveling on Long Neck Road and lost control and overturning on the roadside shoulder.

The weather conditions were extremely hazardous for the traveling motorist.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the traffic control assignment.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
