Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: School Lane and Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday, December 2nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road at the intersection of School Lane. It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the local emergency medical service provider and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization if needed, vehicle stabilization, debris and fluid recovery, traffic control, and overall incident mitigation. The traffic patterns along Long Neck Road, School Lane, and Banks Road were altered for the duration of the incident.

It appears that a white Ford Taurus wagon was traveling north on Long Neck Road and a blue Ford compact car was traveling south on Long Neck Road at the intersection of School Lane when the collision occurred. Both vehicles suffered significant front end damage.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control assignments for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
