Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Tuesday morning, November 15th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of the Shoppes of Long Neck. After gather additional information, it was determined to be in the vicinity of Banks Road and Long Neck Road. It was reported to be two vehicles.

Emergency response crews from Indian River include Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments were to assist with patient stabilization if needed, vehicle stabilization, debris and fluid recovery, as well as overall scene mitigation include traffic.

It appears that a black Hyundai sedan and a Jeep Wrangler collided near the entrance to Uncle Willie’s and the shopping center. Both vehicle did sustain damage and two persons were transported to the nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
