Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious

Location: 31862-32145 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday evening, October 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of M&T Bank. It was reported to be a single vehicle roll-over with possible serious injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional resources were dispatched for the Sussex County Paramedics, the local emergency medical services provider and the Delaware State Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assist with patient stabilization if needed, traffic control and overall incident mitigation. It appears that a Dodge RAM pick-up was traveling on Long Neck Road and lost control for an unknown reason sliding off the roadway and overturning.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the road closure assignment for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
