Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Indian Mission Road, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, October 29th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on John J. Williams just eat of the Indian Mission Road intersection. It was reported to be involving a motorcycle. Additional resources were requested based upon the nature of the incident which included Delaware State Aviation (Trooper #2), the Sussex County Paramedics, and the local emergency medical services provider.

Emergency response units from Indian River include Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation tasks which were traffic control, assistance with vehicle stabilization, if needed, and assistance with patient stabilization if needed. All additional resources (Aviation and Paramedics) were cancelled for this incident. 

It appears that a KIA SUV and a Suzuki motorcycle collided near the eastern most entrance to Nanticoke Crossing Shopping Center causing the cycle to fallen to the roadway.  Both vehicle sustained very minimal damage.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
