Sunday October, 16 2016 @ 17:09 Nature: Structure Fire Location: 32337 Turnstone Ct Millsboro, DE 19966 On Sunday afternoon, October 16th, the Indian River (80), Millsboro (83), Lewes (82), and Rehoboth Beach (86) volunteer fire companies were alerted for a reported working residential structure fire within Indian River’s fire district. This was the second working structure reported today for this fire district. Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80, Chief 80-15, and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard as well as Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facilities and the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional resources were allocated from the Sussex County Paramedics and the local emergency medical services provider. Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation, implementation of a fire suppression attack line into the garage and residential structure areas as well as water supply, ventilation, salvage and recovery. Additional activities included a manpower pool and debris and salvage where possible. It was reported to have a working fire between the garage and first floor residential unit with fire progression in an enclosed stairwell area into the second floor area. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control as well as limiting perimeter access. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office in investigating. |
