Leadership Recognition Efforts – Past Fire Chiefs

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company has recently completed its leadership recognition objectives as well as preserving corporate historical information. These efforts are highlighted with the development and installation of plaques that highlight the corporate leadership for the fire company and ladies’ auxiliary.

A specialized plaque commemorating the past officers of the fire company which include the fire chief, fire company president, and ladies’ auxiliary president.

In March 1953, Granville Hastings was elected to serve as the first fire chief of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company.
