1984 Mack R-Model Tractor / 1970 Progressive Trailer

Tanker 80 was a 1984 Mack R-Model tractor with a 1970 Progressive Trailer. It hosted a Mack 350 HP diesel engine, 2-man cab, opticom traffic light emitter, and a manual transmission. The trailer had 6000 gallon capacity and a 2000 GPM Hale pump powered by a separate engine. The units were equipped with the following equipment: generator; utility lights, and large diameter hose.

On Friday, June 28, 2013, Tanker 80 was sold and delivered to Gumboro Volunteer Fire Company.

Prior to this tanker unit being refurbished by 4-Guys, Inc. of Meyersdale, Pennsylvania in 1993 this unit was operated by a hydraulic PTO belt driven pump that was rated at 500 gpm. This hydraulic pump system was transferred from the previous tanker in 1984. Under this scenario, the tanker and trailer had to remain connected in order to facilitate any water pumping operations.

After the 1993 refurbishment effort, this trailer unit could function as stand-alone unit pump system. It was modified to house a Hale / Deutz self-contained 2000 gpm pump system including scene lighting and various lengths of large diameter hose.

This Progressive Tanker was formerly a milk tanker.

During the transition with the tank trailers the apparatus was painted from red to yellow.
