Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Warwick Rd and John J Williams Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, September 1st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Warwick Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle into a tree with three occupants – one adult and two children.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, traffic control and preparation for door pop-up in order to extricate the vehicle occupants.

It appears that a brown Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound on John J. Williams Highway and left the roadway for an unknown reason striking a traffic sign and tree.

All occupants were transported to nearby medical facilities of additional observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the closure of John J. Williams Highway.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
