Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Victoria Landing, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday evening, August 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for multiple vehicle accidents in the area of John J. Williams Highway and Victoria’s Landing. It was reported to be two unrelated motor vehicle accidents within this area.

Emergency response apparatus from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Engine #80-5 from the Oak Orchard area and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, incident stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, and assistance with patient stabilization. The Delaware State Fire Police were ordered to close John J. Williams Highway for the duration of the incident.

Incident #1 - It appears that in one motor vehicle mishap, a maroon Dodge minivan was traveling westbound on John J Williams Highway and struck the rear of another traveling westbound vehicle.

Incident #2 – It appears that a while Dodge minivan was traveling westbound on John J. Williams Highway and blue Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound collided at the entrance to the Victoria’s Landing development. These vehicles required specialized attention because the occupant of the Ford required extrication assistance.   This incident occurred within 20 yards of the aforementioned incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the incidents.
