Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Bay Farm Rd and John J Will Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday afternoon, August 17th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for two vehicle accident incidents as follows: (1) Bay Farm Road @ John J. Williams Highway; and (2) Oak Orchard Road @ Oak Meadows Drive.

Emergency response apparatus from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80-1 and Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility. Rescue 80 was assigned the Oak Orchard Road incident and Engine #80-1 / Brush #80-0 were assigned the Bay Farm Road incident.

Oak Orchard Road Incident: After completion of a search of the immediate area this incident was determined to be unfounded.

Bay Farm Road Incident: This incident involved a maroon Chevrolet SUV type vehicle that was traveling eastbound on John J. Williams Highway that for an unknown reason left the roadway at the intersection of Bay Farm Road and struck a tree.

Emergency response units were assigned to perform vehicle stabilization efforts on the Chevrolet as well as coordinate traffic control efforts.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
