Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious

Early Tuesday morning, August 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road in the vicinity of Food Lion. It was reported to a be an overturned vehicle and possible serious as a result of the incident.

Emergency response units from Indian River included: Chief 80-15 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation, vehicle stabilization, assist in search for any vehicle occupants, traffic control, and debris recovery.

It appears that a tan Subaru SUV was traveling south on Indian Mission Road and left the roadway for an unknown reason striking several trees and overturning on the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle sustained significant damage and the occupants of the vehicle were initially gone-on-arrival of emergency response units.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
