Nature: Fire Prevention Program – Fire Station Tour and Apparatus Awareness

City: Oak Orchard – Station #1

On Wednesday August 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was asked to provide an a fire prevention program include fire station tour and apparatus awareness initiative for a summer program at the Delaware Guidance Program.

The event was hosted at the Oak Orchard Station for the children and included various educational and recreational initiatives to emphasis the importance of fire prevention as well as reviewing what the fire service has to offer potential volunteers.

These exercises included but not limited to a hose handling and nozzle exercise to hit the sign as well as fire truck apparatus awareness and ride.
