Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Corkys Lane and Indian Mission Road, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday afternoon, July 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road just north of Friendship Road at or near Corky’s Lane. It was reported to be two vehicles with minor injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80, and Chief 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization if needed, vehicle stabilization, debris and fluid recovery where needed, traffic control with closure of Indian Mission Road and other incident mitigation activities.

It appears that a blue Ford mini-van and a maroon Volkswagen Jetta were traveling north on Indian Mission Road when the van struck the rear of the sedan.  The incident was upgraded upon arrival of Millsboro Fire Company ambulance that was returning from the nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
