Sunday July, 24 2016 @ 09:23 Nature: House Fire Location: Oyster House Rd and Tabasco Ln., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 On Sunday morning, July 24th, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82), and Bethany Beach (70) were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) with a working residential structure fire on Oyster House Road just off of Route 1. It was reported to be a working structure fire with heavy fire through the roof. It was additionally advised that three children and two dogs needed to located but were safely outside the residential structure. Additional resources from Milton (85); Memorial (89); Millsboro (83), and Dagsboro (73) fire companies in order to provide stand-by cover up assignments at the original dispatched companies. Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility; Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility; as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crew assignments included resources to the manpower pool, assistance with fire suppression and overhaul as well as equipment restoration activities. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
