Nature: Apparatus Committee Tours Spartan ERV Ladder Production Facility
On Monday, July 11th, the Apparatus Committee of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company continued its evaluation and review of apparatus aspirations with regards to a replacement of its aging fleet which include a ladder truck and a rescue-engine.
The committee traveled to communities in Pennsylvania to evaluate a potential ladder truck replacement for Indian River. This included evaluation and inspection stops at Command Fire Apparatus in Landisville; Fire Line Apparatus in Blue Ball; and Spartan ERV in Ephrata.
A complete tour of the Spartan ERV production facility was coordinated by some of the engineers at the location.
The Apparatus Committee will continue its search for replacement apparatus but is more knowledgeable with the ladder design and construction process.
