Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Indian Mission Rd and Beaver Dam Road, Harbeson, DE 19951

On Friday morning, July 8th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road in the vicinity of Beaver Dam Road. It originally was reported as a property damage incident and then upgraded to a personal injury event.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, vehicle stabilization if necessary as well as debris and fluid recovery.

It appears that two black SUV type vehicles were traveling north on Indian Mission Road when the black Subaru Forester attempted to slow for the pending curve and/or intersection and was struck from behind by the other black SUV type vehicle.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic flow for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
