Nature: Fireworks Standby Crew Assignments

Over the 4th of July, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company provided assistance to many neighboring communities with respect to standby coverage and assignments for firework displays.

Indian River provided various units and crews to the following areas for firework display assistance based upon the anticipated crowds.

• Baywoods – Friday evening, July 1st – fire suppression stand-crews were assigned for firework display (brush truck assignment);

• Paradise Grill (Pot Nets Bayside) and Warwick Cove area – Saturday evening, July 2nd - fire suppression stand-by crews were assigned for firework display (engine and marine unit assignment);

• Rehoboth Beach – Sunday evening, July 3rd - fire suppression stand-by crews were assigned for firework display (brush truck and ATV unit assignment); and

• Dewey Beach – Monday evening, July 4th - fire suppression stand-by crews were assigned for firework display (brush truck, ATV unit, marine unit assignment)

These assignments were to assist and provided coverage for potential issues and were in addition to our normal fire district coverage.
