Wednesday June, 22 2016 @ 09:54 Nature: Vehicle Accident Location: 25299 Banks Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Wednesday, June 22nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Banks Road in the vicinity of Rudder Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle into a tree. Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility, as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crew assignments included assist with patient stabilization if needed, vehicle stabilization and other incident mitigation measures. The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident. It appears that a blue Pontiac Grand LeMans was traveling along Banks Road and failed to successfully navigate a turn, leaving the roadway and striking a tree and fencing. The occupant of the vehicle was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observations. The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control as Banks Road was closed for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating. |
