Nature: Fire Nature Unknown

On Monday, June 13th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a fire nature unknown in the vicinity of Cedar and Spruce Streets in Oak Orchard across from the Main Station.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Brush #80-00 and Engine #80-5 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation to suppress a brush and woods fire. Crews utilized an 1½” fire suppression hose, rakes, and a fire extinquisher.

It appears that a small brush / woods fire was located in the wooded area immediately behind Captain Tom’s General Store in Oak Orchard.

Information regarding the incident has been forwarded to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office.
