Nature: Vehicle Fire

On Saturday, May 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire at Rite Aid located on John J. Williams Highway. It was reported to be in the engine compartment.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.  The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with bystander and traffic patterns.. 

Emergency response crew assignments included assignment of the vehicle to verify that the fire was extinguished and to alert the Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office. There was an active fire in the engine compartment and the owner was able to dispose of the fire with a fire extinguisher.
