Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious

John J Williams Hwy and Long Neck Road, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday afternoon, April 7th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Long Neck Road.  It was reported by Sussex County Paramedic Unit 106 that was on-scene and identified a two vehicle collision and unknown status of injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility, as well as the Delaware State Fire Police and a local ambulance from Millsboro Fire Company.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient assessment and stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control, and overall scene mitigation.

It appears that a blue Chevrolet Cobalt and a silver 4-door compact car collided at the intersection causing significant damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
