Tuesday March, 15 2016 @ 10:39 Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious Location: 30518-30737 Phillips Branch Road, Harbeson, DE 19951 On Tuesday morning, March 15th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Phillips Branch Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle, overturned with entrapment. Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility, as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crews were able to determine that the vehicle accident was located on Holly Lake Road off of Phillips Branch Road. Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, if needed, traffic control, etc. It appears that a green Mazda Protégé was traveling on Holly Lake Road and lost control for an unknown reason. It appears that the vehicle left the roadway, entered a wooded area, and overturned. The occupant of the vehicle was not able to immediately exit the vehicle. The traffic conditions along Holly Lake Road and Phillips Branch Road were heavy based upon a temporary traffic detour associated with the early morning accident on John J. Williams Highway. The Delaware State Fire Police were ordered to close Holly Lake Road for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating. |
