Nature: Washdown (Fuel Spill)

Location: Long Neck Rd and John J Williams Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday morning, February 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a wash down assignment and to assist the Delaware State Police as a result of a property damage vehicle accident.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignment included vehicle stabilization, assist with traffic control, and fluid and debris recovery.

It appears that a black Honda Pilot and a blue Toyota compact car were traveling east on John J. Williams Highway when the Toyota hit the rear of the Honda. The impact caused significant front end damage to the Toyota and allowed for fluid and debris to escape from the Toyota.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the Delaware State Police.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
