Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 33040 Cranberry Lane, Millsboro, DE

 

On Sunday morning, January 24th, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82), and Millsboro (83) volunteer fire companies were alerted for a structure fire on Cranberry Lane in the Oak Way Development off of River Road in Oak Orchard. It was later reported that potential concern included a subjects trapped. Utility 80 responded to the fire house and reported heavy smoke condition in Oak Orchard.

Emergency response units from Indian River included: Tanker 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. The local EMS provider and the Sussex County Paramedics were also alerted.

Emergency response crews initiated an immediate search of the structure which yielded not occupants as well as engaged in fire suppression and access to the skirting and underneath of the manufactured home. The utility service provider was required to attend in order to disconnect the electrical services.

The occupants of the home were not present at the time of the fire.

The Delaware State Fire Police assist with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.
