On Saturday morning and into early afternoon, January 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company requested the assistance of the Delaware National Guard to assist with the numerous nature of inclement weather calls associated with the more than 4” of snow and then 4’ or more of tidal water from the nor’easter storm. • http://www.delaware1059.com/story.php?id=21710 • http://www.delaware1059.com/story.php?id=21708 • http://www.delaware1059.com/story.php?id=21714 • http://www.delaware1059.com/story.php?id=21713 • http://www.delaware1059.com/story.php?id=21716 In Oak Orchard and Long Neck many of the evacuees were taken to the Community Church of Oak Orchard and then transferred to the Sussex Central High School storm shelter. The emergency response resources evacuated approximately 50 persons from the Oak Orchard – Long Neck area. Illustrated below are activities from the days’ events prior to 4 p.m. and pending the arrival of the next high tide cycle. |
