Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious

Location: 28359 Layton Davis Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday, December 12th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Layton Davis Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle rollover potentially serious.

Emergency response crews from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignment s included assistance with patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control where needed, and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a blue Toyota 4-door compact vehicle was traveling south on Layton Davis Road and failed to successfully navigate the sharp curve. The vehicle rounded the curve, ran off the east side of the roadway and over corrected causing the vehicle to rotate counter wise before overturning in a nearby farmer’s field.

The local emergency medical services provider transported one minor patient to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control for the duration of incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
