Story

Indian River Implements Community Outreach Message during Holiday Season

As the winter holiday season approaches, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company implements its Community Outreach Message which includes various demonstrations, floats in nearby Christmas Parades, website interaction, and specialized presentations.

The winter holiday season is intended to be joyous time of the year spent with family and loved ones. However, certain types of fires and injuries associated with holiday decorating are much more prevalent during this season.  Christmas trees are a traditional part of the Christmas holiday. They can also be a significant source of fuel in a fire.

Fire safety outreach information and materials can be reviewed via the following website:

This campaign intent is to enhance awareness and promote working smoke detectors in your residence.  These safety tips, media messages, displays, holiday parade floats, public service announcements and handouts are targeted to this cause..
