Tuesday October, 27 2015 @ 10:48 Nature: Vehicle Accident Location: John J Williams Hwy & Warwick Road, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Tuesday morning, October 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Warwick Road. It was reported to be two vehicle involved with minor injuries. Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility with additional assistance from the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization and assist with patient stabilization if needed, scene mitigation and traffic control for the duration of the incident. Initial arriving emergency response units amended the incident location to the John J. Williams Highway at the entrance to Indian Summer Village approximately ½ mile east of Warwick Park. It appears that a silver KIA Forte and a maroon Ford Focus were traveling eastbound on John J. Williams Highway when the Ford did not recognize the slowing KIA which appears to have been turning left into the residential development. The Ford struck the right rear of the KIA causing significant damage to both vehicles. The Delaware State Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
