Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Maryland Camp Rd & Mount Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday afternoon, September 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Mt. Joy Road in the vicinity of Maryland Camp Road. It was reported to a two vehicle collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included: Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility, and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient care if necessary, stabilize the vehicle where appropriate, and assist with traffic control.

It appears that a gold Honda SUV was traveling south on Mount Joy Road and sideswiped a northbound Delaware Electric Cooperative truck causing minor damage to the truck. The driver of the Honda did required additional medical observations at nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control items.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
