Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Long Neck Rd & Blue Mist Millsboro, DE 19966

Early Wednesday morning, September 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Blue Mist Drive near Fairfield. It was reported to having debris in the roadway with a vehicle overturned.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Incident Command from the Oak Orchard facility; Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response assignments vehicle stabilization, incident mitigation, traffic control, and assist with locating the vehicle’s occupant.

It appears that a white Chevrolet SUV was traveling within the Mariner’s Cove development and failed to successfully navigate the roadway crossing a small grassy area and into a large ditch sideways. The vehicle rested on the side of the ditch embankment and all of the occupants had left the vehicle.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
